Fondue Feast Challenge
Date: Saturday, September 9th, 2023
Time: Competitor Check-in at 10:30am / First Round begins at 11:00am / Final Round begins at 12:05pm
Location: At Fondue Fest located on Main Street Plaza (Corner of Sheboygan Street and Main Street in downtown Fond du Lac)
How it works:
Part of Fond du Lac Festival’s Fondy FallToberfest Preview, nine contestants will endure 4 rounds of speed-eating challenges, all within 1 hour on Saturday, September 9th in downtown Fond du Lac during Fondue Fest. The winner will be crowned the Fastest Eater in Fondy and receive a $100 Downtown Fond du Lac Gift Certificate! The bottom two finishers from each round will be eliminated until there are 3 people remaining for the Final Round.

This year’s theme is Oktoberfest Foods to promote the upcoming Fondy FallToberfest at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac on Saturday, October 21st. Thank you to our event partner – 18 Hands Ale Haus in downtown Fond du Lac for the donated food items. Check them out for some fantastic german-style fare and an awesome biergarten!
11:00 AM Round 1: Giant Pretzel w/ Fondue
11:20 AM Round 2: German Potato Salad
11:40 AM Round 3: Brats, Sauerkraut, and all the fixings on a pretzel bun
12:05 PM* Round 4 (Finale): German Chocolate Double Brownie
*Finale to take place after the tapping of the firkin.
Rules:
Must be 18 years or older. Must also pre-register online by 11PM on Friday, September 8, 2023 and be one of the first ten (10) participants confirmed. Check-in at event site by 10:30am (Fondue Feast Challenge Stage on Main Street Plaza – SW corner of Sheboygan Street and Main Street in downtown Fond du Lac). If you do not arrive by 10:30am, your place may be taken by walk-ups. Instructions will be provided to all confirmed competitors prior to the event. By registering and signing the liability waiver, I acknowledge that I am signing this agreement freely and voluntarily and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. Waiver will need to be signed prior to competition the day of the event.
Competition Rules:
1) Use only hands or utensils provided. 2) You will not be allowed to dunk any foods in water, but you are able to drink water during the competition. 3) All food must be gone from the plate and any food that drops must also be consumed before your time is up. 4) Must present open to judges to show all food has been consumed.

Nine contestants endured 4 rounds of speed-eating challenges, all within 1 hour on Saturday, September 10th in downtown Fond du Lac. At Fondue Fest, we hosted the first ever Fondue Feast Challenge and crowned the Fastest Eater in Fondy winner to Kayla Mueller. Kayla also received a $100 Downtown Fond du Lac Gift Certificate!
